Find the message or symptom you see, then follow the fix. Most issues come from the member role, the subscription, or a connection that expired.

Quick check

Before anything else, check these three things:
  1. Role. You’re an Admin or Editor in the workspace. Viewers can’t use AI connectors.
  2. Subscription. The workspace Admin’s subscription is active.
  3. Connection. In My Account → AI connectors, your assistant shows Active.

Connecting

The GetQR sign-in page shows “Viewers can’t connect AI assistants. Ask an editor or the workspace owner.” Your role is Viewer. Ask the workspace Admin to change your role to Editor. See Roles and permissions.
AI assistants can connect only to GetQR accounts with an active subscription.
  • Admin: click View plans to renew. For payment questions, see the Help Center.
  • Editor: the page says “The workspace owner needs an active subscription before you can connect an AI assistant.” Ask your workspace Admin.
The app that sent you to GetQR isn’t recognized, or its redirect address doesn’t match. Close the window and connect again from the assistant. If it keeps happening, remove GetQR from the assistant and add it again with https://getqr.com/api/mcp.
The approval failed after you clicked Allow. Click Allow again, or start the connection again from the assistant.
GetQR waits until you approve the connection. Finish the sign-in in the assistant and click Allow on the GetQR page. The dialog updates automatically. If you closed the assistant’s tab, click Cancel and start again.
ChatGPT doesn’t support adding connectors from the mobile app. Open chatgpt.com on your computer to connect GetQR. See Connect to ChatGPT.
Cursor is a desktop app, so it can only be connected from your computer. See Connect to Cursor.
Install the Cursor desktop app and allow your browser to open it. Or add GetQR to mcp.json by hand. See Connect to Cursor.
It’s already connected to your account. To start over, revoke the connection first. See Manage connections.

After connecting

Access tokens last 1 hour and the assistant renews them on its own. If the assistant wasn’t used for 30 days, or the connection was revoked, renewal fails. Reconnect from the assistant and click Allow. See Reconnect an assistant.
The assistant wasn’t used for 30 days. Reconnect from the assistant. The connection shows Active again.
The workspace subscription is no longer active. All connections stop working until it’s renewed. Admins can see plans in GetQR; see the Help Center for payment questions.
Your role was changed to Viewer, or you were removed from the workspace. Ask the workspace Admin for the Editor role.
Mention GetQR in the prompt, for example “Using GetQR, list my QR codes”. Check that the connector is turned on in the assistant for this chat.
A connection is tied to one workspace: your default workspace, or the first workspace you joined.

Tasks and results

The connector creates Website QR codes only. Create other types in the QR code builder.
Member management is for the workspace Admin only. Editors get a permission error.
Uploaded logos, Convert logo to QR, Branded designs and AI designs aren’t available through the connector. Use the suggested logos, or style the code in the app.
The domain must be live, and the QR code needs a custom short link. Ask the assistant to check the domain. If it isn’t live, add the CNAME record it gives you at your DNS provider (DNS only, not proxied) and check again after a minute. See Verify and troubleshoot a domain.
Subscription, billing and account deletion are never available to assistants. Use the GetQR app or the Help Center.
