Add GetQR to Cursor as an MCP server so you can create QR codes and check scans from Cursor’s chat. Install it with one click from GetQR, or add it to your mcp.json file.

Before you start

  • A GetQR account with the Admin or Editor role, and an active subscription. See AI connectors overview.
  • The Cursor desktop app on your computer. Cursor can only be connected from a computer.

Install with one click

1

Open My Account

In GetQR on your computer, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then click My Account.
2

Open the AI connectors tab

Click AI connectors.
3

Start the connection

Click Connect an assistant. If you already have a connection, click Connect instead.
4

Choose Cursor

Select Cursor in the dialog.
5

Open Cursor

Click Open Cursor. Your browser asks to open Cursor; allow it.
6

Install the server

Cursor shows the GetQR MCP server, already filled in. Confirm the install.
7

In Cursor’s MCP settings, start the sign-in for GetQR. Your browser opens the GetQR sign-in page.
8

Approve access

Sign in to GetQR if asked. Review the permissions and click Allow.
9

Check the connection

Back in GetQR, the dialog updates automatically and shows “Cursor connected”. Cursor now appears under Connected clients.

Add it manually

Use this if the one-click install doesn’t work, or to share the setup with your team.
1

Open MCP settings in Cursor

In Cursor, open Customize → MCPs → Add MCP (or Add server, depending on your Cursor version).
2

Add the GetQR server

Add GetQR to your mcp.json file:
If the file already lists other servers, add the "GetQR" entry next to them inside mcpServers.
3

Save the file

Save mcp.json. GetQR appears in Cursor’s MCP list.
4

Sign in and approve

Start the sign-in for GetQR in Cursor. On the GetQR page, click Allow.
You don’t need an API key. Cursor signs in with OAuth and renews access automatically.

Try it

Open Cursor’s chat and ask:

Common issues

Make sure the Cursor desktop app is installed, and allow your browser to open it. Otherwise, add the server manually.
You opened the dialog on a phone. Cursor is a desktop app, so it can only be connected from your computer.
Access tokens last 1 hour and Cursor renews them automatically. If Cursor wasn’t used for 30 days, or you revoked access, sign in again from Cursor’s MCP settings.
Viewers can’t connect AI assistants. Ask the workspace Admin to make you an Editor.
AI assistants can connect only to accounts with an active subscription. See the Help Center for plan questions.
