How dynamic QR codes work
A GetQR QR code doesn’t store your website, file or contact details directly. It stores a short link. When someone scans it, GetQR looks up where that short link should go and sends them there. That is why you can:- Edit after printing. Change the destination or content at any time. The printed code stays the same.
- Pause and schedule. Pause a code, set an activation date or an end date, or stop it after a number of scans.
- Protect it. Ask for a password before people see the content.
- Measure scans. See how many people scanned, when, where and on which device.
WiFi QR codes are the exception. They store the network name and password in the code itself, so phones can join the network without going online first. Scans of a WiFi code aren’t tracked, and changes you make in GetQR don’t reach codes that are already printed.
What you can do
- Create QR codes of 15 types: Website, vCard, PDF, Image, Video, App Link, WhatsApp, SMS, Social Media, Multi-Link, WiFi, Feedback, Payment, Email and Location.
- Design them with Custom designs (frames, shapes, colors and logos), Branded designs (your logo or image rebuilt as a scannable code) or AI designs (artwork generated from a description).
- Save templates to reuse a design across codes.
- Create in bulk: up to 100 QR codes at a time from a table or CSV file.
- Download in JPG, PNG, SVG, PDF or EPS, or print straight from the dashboard.
- Track scans in Statistics and get scan reports by email with Scheduled Reports.
- Work as a team: invite up to 5 people to your workspace as Admin, Editor or Viewer.
- Brand your links with a custom short link or your own custom domain.
