AI connectors let you manage your QR codes from an AI assistant. Connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to GetQR, then ask in plain language: “How did the menu code scan last week?” or “Create a QR code for our new landing page.”

How it works

GetQR runs an MCP server (Model Context Protocol, the open standard AI assistants use to connect to apps). You add the server to your assistant once and sign in with your GetQR account. After that, the assistant can read and change data in your workspace on your behalf.
Other assistants that support remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in can also connect with the same URL. They show up as Other MCP client in your connections list.

Who can use it

The workspace also needs an active subscription. Editors use the Admin’s subscription, so it’s the Admin’s plan that counts. If it isn’t active, the sign-in page shows “An active subscription is required” and existing connections stop working until it’s renewed.

Before you start

  • A GetQR account with the Admin or Editor role. See Roles and permissions.
  • An active subscription on the workspace Admin’s account. For plan and payment questions, see the Help Center.
  • Claude, ChatGPT on a computer, or the Cursor desktop app.

What the assistant can do

When you connect, GetQR asks you to approve these permissions:
  • Read scan statistics and analytics
  • Create and edit QR codes
  • Create and apply templates
  • Create and manage scheduled reports
  • Invite and manage members
In practice, the assistant can list and search your QR codes, create Website QR codes, change their destination and design, pause or resume them, get download links, pull scan statistics, export scan data, save templates, set up scheduled reports, create QR codes in bulk and set up custom domains. Member management works only for the workspace Admin. See What you can do for the full list.

What the assistant can’t do

  • Billing and account. Subscription, billing and account deletion are never available to assistants.
  • Other QR types. The assistant creates Website QR codes only. Create other types in the app.
  • Delete QR codes. The assistant can pause a QR code but can’t delete it.
  • Change a short link. A short link can’t be changed after the QR code is created, by you or the assistant.
  • Some designs. Uploaded logos, Convert logo to QR, Branded designs and AI designs can’t be set through the assistant.

Security

  • You approve every connection. The assistant never sees your password. You sign in on a GetQR page and click Allow.
  • Standard OAuth. Connections use OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. Access tokens last 1 hour and the assistant renews them automatically. If an assistant isn’t used for 30 days, its connection expires and you sign in again.
  • Same rules as the app. The assistant acts as you, with your role’s permissions. An Editor’s assistant can’t do anything an Editor can’t do in the app.
  • One workspace. A connection is tied to one workspace: your default workspace, or the first workspace you joined.
  • Revoke any time. Remove a connection in My Account → AI connectors. The assistant loses access immediately. See Manage connections.
The assistant can make real changes, such as changing where a printed QR code points, pausing a code or removing a member. Read what the assistant plans to do before you confirm, especially for changes to printed codes.

Common issues

The tab is shown only to Admins and Editors. Viewers can’t connect assistants. Ask the workspace Admin to change your role if you need access.
Check What you can do. Billing, deleting QR codes, other QR types and some designs aren’t available through assistants. Do these in the GetQR app.
The connection may have expired or been revoked, or the subscription may be inactive. See Troubleshooting.
