# Location QR code

## Settings

| Setting | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Enter a location or address** | Required. Up to 255 characters. Accepts three kinds of input, see below. |
| **Name your QR Code** | Optional. Up to 40 characters. Only you see it. If you leave it empty, GetQR uses a default name. |

**Enter a location or address** accepts:

* **A search:** type an address, business or landmark and pick a suggestion. Typing alone isn't enough: you must select a result.
* **A Google Maps link:** paste a link starting with `https://maps.app.goo.gl`, `https://goo.gl/maps`, `https://maps.google.com` or `https://www.google.com/maps`. GetQR reads the place from it.
* **Coordinates:** type latitude and longitude separated by a comma, for example `40.7484, -73.9857`. Latitude must be between -90 and 90, longitude between -180 and 180.

## What people see when they scan

There is no landing page. The phone opens the place in Google Maps: the app if it's installed, otherwise the Google Maps website. From there, people can get directions.

The code goes through a GetQR short link, so you can move it to a new address later without reprinting. Every scan is counted in your statistics.

## Use cases

* Show your store or restaurant location on flyers and posters.
* Guide guests to an event venue, a wedding or a meeting point.
* Point visitors to a specific entrance, parking lot or pick-up spot with coordinates.
* Add directions to real estate signs and open-house materials.
