# Account and trial

> Create a GetQR account, log in, and understand how the trial and subscription work.

You create a GetQR account by building your first QR code on [getqr.com](https://getqr.com) and starting your plan. Your account, workspace and that QR code are all set up as soon as checkout is complete.

## Before you start

* An email address you can access. GetQR signs you in with links sent to this address, so there is no password to remember.
* If someone invited you to their workspace, you don't need to sign up. Open the invitation email and accept it instead. See [Invite members](/members/invite-members).

## Sign up

<Steps>
  <Step title="Build a QR code on getqr.com">
    Go to [getqr.com](https://getqr.com). In the builder on the page, choose a QR code type, add your content and pick a design. You don't need an account for this part.
  </Step>

    You also get a welcome email with your QR code and a link that signs you in.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  If the email you enter already has a GetQR account, you won't be charged again. GetQR sends a login link to that address instead, and your new QR code is waiting in your account after you sign in.
</Note>

## How the trial works

* The trial lasts 7 days and gives you full access: unlimited QR codes, analytics, all design options and every download format.
* When the trial ends, it continues as a recurring subscription unless you cancel. Your billing period is shown in **Plans & Payments** in the account menu.
* Plans renew every 4 weeks, every 3 months or every 12 months, depending on the plan you choose.
* Only the workspace Admin pays. Editors and Viewers use the Admin's subscription.

For prices, payment methods, invoices, refunds and cancellation, see the [Help Center](https://getqr.com/help).

## What happens if your subscription ends

If you cancel, your subscription stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. After that, your workspace is paused:

* Your QR codes stop redirecting. People who scan them see a page that says **QR is deactivated.**
* Scan analytics stop collecting.
* Creating, editing and downloading QR codes is disabled.

Nothing is deleted. Your QR codes, designs and analytics stay saved, and the same printed codes work again as soon as the Admin renews. To renew, click **Restore Access** on the **My QR Codes** page and follow the steps.

<Warning>
  Codes you have already printed stop working while the subscription is inactive. Renew before it ends if your codes are in use.
</Warning>
