# Troubleshooting

> Fix common issues with the GetQR connector in Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor.

Find the message or symptom you see, then follow the fix. Most issues come from the member role, the subscription, or a connection that expired.

## Quick check

Before anything else, check these three things:

1. **Role.** You're an Admin or Editor in the workspace. Viewers can't use AI connectors.
2. **Subscription.** The workspace Admin's subscription is active.
3. **Connection.** In **My Account** → **AI connectors**, your assistant shows **Active**.

## Connecting

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="“AI connectors aren't available”">
    The GetQR sign-in page shows "Viewers can't connect AI assistants. Ask an editor or the workspace owner." Your role is Viewer. Ask the workspace Admin to change your role to Editor. See [Roles and permissions](/members/roles-and-permissions).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="“An active subscription is required”">
    AI assistants can connect only to GetQR accounts with an active subscription.

    * **Admin:** click **View plans** to renew. For payment questions, see the [Help Center](https://getqr.com/help).
    * **Editor:** the page says "The workspace owner needs an active subscription before you can connect an AI assistant." Ask your workspace Admin.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="“This connection request is invalid”">
    The app that sent you to GetQR isn't recognized, or its redirect address doesn't match. Close the window and connect again from the assistant. If it keeps happening, remove GetQR from the assistant and add it again with `https://getqr.com/api/mcp`.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="“Couldn't connect this assistant. Try again.”">
    The approval failed after you clicked **Allow**. Click **Allow** again, or start the connection again from the assistant.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The GetQR dialog stays on “Waiting for…”">
    GetQR waits until you approve the connection. Finish the sign-in in the assistant and click **Allow** on the GetQR page. The dialog updates automatically. If you closed the assistant's tab, click **Cancel** and start again.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="ChatGPT: “Set up ChatGPT on desktop”">
    ChatGPT doesn't support adding connectors from the mobile app. Open chatgpt.com on your computer to connect GetQR. See [Connect to ChatGPT](/ai-connectors/connect-chatgpt).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Cursor: “Set up Cursor on desktop”">
    Cursor is a desktop app, so it can only be connected from your computer. See [Connect to Cursor](/ai-connectors/connect-cursor).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Cursor doesn't open from the Open Cursor button">
    Install the Cursor desktop app and allow your browser to open it. Or add GetQR to `mcp.json` by hand. See [Connect to Cursor](/ai-connectors/connect-cursor#add-it-manually).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The assistant is greyed out in the Connect dialog">
    It's already connected to your account. To start over, revoke the connection first. See [Manage connections](/ai-connectors/manage-connections).
  </Accordion>

## After connecting

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="The assistant says the token is invalid or expired">
    Access tokens last 1 hour and the assistant renews them on its own. If the assistant wasn't used for 30 days, or the connection was revoked, renewal fails. Reconnect from the assistant and click **Allow**. See [Reconnect an assistant](/ai-connectors/manage-connections#reconnect-an-assistant).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The connection shows Expired">
    The assistant wasn't used for 30 days. Reconnect from the assistant. The connection shows **Active** again.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The connector worked, then stopped with “Active subscription required”">
    The workspace subscription is no longer active. All connections stop working until it's renewed. Admins can see plans in GetQR; see the [Help Center](https://getqr.com/help) for payment questions.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The connector stopped with “AI connectors are not available for this role.”">

## Tasks and results

<AccordionGroup>

  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The download or export link doesn't work">
    Links work for 1 hour. Ask the assistant for a new one. For a large export, a blank page means the file isn't ready: wait about a minute. If it's still blank after about 5 minutes, ask for the export again with a shorter period or as CSV.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="A domain can't be used for a QR code">
    The domain must be live, and the QR code needs a custom short link. Ask the assistant to check the domain. If it isn't live, add the CNAME record it gives you at your DNS provider (DNS only, not proxied) and check again after a minute. See [Verify and troubleshoot a domain](/custom-domains/verify-and-troubleshoot).
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The assistant asks about billing or deleting my account">
